Mornings can set the tone for your entire day and as a busy entrepreneur and mother of two my schedule is usually packed from the moment I wake up until the time my head hits the pillow. Having a good morning is a little planning and a lot of nourishing your body and mind so without further ado here are 3 tricks to starting your day off right.
Tip #1 for a great morning is to take at least 10 minutes to be mindful. In my case that means getting lunches packed, clothes ready and coffee set before we go to sleep and waking up a little earlier than the kiddos. This ensures I have enough time, because we know how quickly excuses can creep up and then the first thing to go is self-care, but let me tell you how much daily meditation can change your life. If you aren’t familiar with meditation, you can search YouTube for guided meditations, these are great for beginners and will walk you through the process. Taking even 10 minutes a day to quite your mind helps keep you focused and grounded for the rest of the day.
Tip #2 has joined this list with much trial and error. For my fellow coffee-lovers I’m sure you can’t wait to grab your coffee right when you wake up, but I have found drinking a glass of water right when I wake up helps start my day off right. One of my favorite tips is to infuse water with fruit the night before, it adds nutrients to your water and makes it extra tasty. Keeping yourself hydrated helps curb the snack cravings throughout the day and kick-starts your body for an awesome day!
