Imaginative play has always been a big part of our household. We keep a large tote filled with costumes, hats and magic wands. It’s important for me to teach my children that they can be whoever they want to be and to remind them how important our imagination is. You often hear parents whisper dreams of their children becoming a lawyer, nurse or doctor. I just want my children to be happy in any endeavor, but if I had to choose a career it would be that they own their own business. As an entrepreneur I know just how important imagination is in growing my business. You have to be able to look outside the box, problem solve and create amazing things. As a child my parents encouraged me to wear my crown to the grocery store, to dye my hair pink, to never stifle my imagination- and that’s one of the biggest reasons that my career is where it is today.
I have gotten so many requests from you amazing readers to find high-quality costumes for your littles. A quick search on Etsy brought me to a shop that made my inner child jump for joy. Boo Bah Blue is a fun little space where you can find some of the highest-quality, comfortable and super cute costumes for your children. Most of the costumes come in the sizes 12 months-6t, although I will admit that if they came in adult sizes I would probably wear them too. My youngest son, B is two and as with any 2 year old he really loves dinosaurs. I mean eats, sleeps, breathes dinosaurs. He often corrects me when I call his name, “No. me dinosaur”. To which I usually reply, “Little dino, what would you like for lunch?” Or whatever question I was asking him. His love for dinosaurs is the reason that I chose this costume for review however I encourage you to take a look at all of the different styles and patterns over at Boo Bah Blue.
The first thing I noticed when receiving this 2t Dinosaur costume was that the quality of the fabric is perfect for the cooler Midwestern Halloweens. It’s super soft and thick. The full suit has an easy-to-use Velcro closer on the back and room for extra layers if necessary. The quality of this costume is beyond my expectations, which are usually high because I am always around incredibly talented handmade artisans, so that tells you just how special these costumes are. If you are looking for heirloom quality, one-of-a-kind costumes this is it.
Another thing that caught my eye was that these costumes also come with an adorable hood. As a mother of two I know firsthand that if the hood isnt’ comfortable it’s coming off and I am pleased to say that this hood passed the test with little B. He immediately started roaring and running through the house. He was pretty upset when the costume had to come off and I noticed he took extra care of the tail. The tail has the adorable spikes and is stuffed which lends the real look and feel of your favorite dino. I can promise that it’s impossible for anyone to put this costume on and not immediately try to wiggle the tail.
