I’m a busy mother of two, and I wanted to share some all natural products I always keep in my pantry. These are staples whether you have children or not, they are a great way to keep yourself healthy all year round, but especially during cold and flu season.
- Turmeric: My one-stop shop tea.

Lost River Naturals offers two delicious ways to make sure you benefit from this herb. The first, and most delicious is Turmeric Vitality Tea.

How I Use It: I take two first thing in the morning, and 2 at night. You could really take them whenever you feel inflammation, or if you need an immune boost.

3.Matcha Green Tea: To chill, and focus.
Benefits: Modern science has confirmed the calming effects of matcha. Matcha was often used by Buddhist monks to remain alert yet calm during long meditation practices. It was in the 11th century that the Zen priest Esai initiated the cultivation of tea in Japan. His famous book about tea opens with this sentence ~ “Tea is the ultimate mental and medical remedy and has the ability to make one’s life more full and complete.” In saying that, Esai was referring to Matcha, later to become Japan’s most treasured kind of green tea and the only tea to be used in the traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony.
How I Use It: I but a teaspoon in 8 ounces of hot water with organic milk and raw local honey. Let me tell you that this flavor is addicting. It’s creamy, and fresh. I drink a cup in the morning while I am getting my work in order, and usually one at night. I can drink this tea and it keeps me focused, but relaxed- truly incredible.
Benefits: Although not widely used in the West, India’s ancient healing system recognizes tulsi, also know as holy basil, as a medicine to prevent the damaging effects that stress can have on the body. Tulsi is revered within India as being without equal for its medicinal and spiritual properties. The tulsi plant is regarded as the holiest of all plants by Hindus, and within Ayurveda, tulsi is known as “The Incomparable One.” Considered an “elixir of life” this potent adaptogen promotes longevity. Adaptogens help the body cope with stress, enhance physical and mental health and promote longevity. Adaptogens are therefore primarily used to improve defenses and increase resistance to a broad spectrum of harmful physical, chemical and biological stressors.
How I Use It: I use this when I can’t meditate. It’s my meditation in a bottle. There’s something special about Lost River Natural’s Tulsi Tincture, though- It’s so smooth. It’s sweet and delicious. Connie really knows how to appreciate the herbs when she creates these natural products.
