Day 2 & 3 Review
I always looked forward to arm days when I did P90X. The reason was, because it was like a little break. Once I popped TapouT XT Day 2 Strength & Force Upper into my DVD player I knew that it was going to be a bit different. I really love how amped up Mike gets you. Even when you feel like you can’t do anymore reps, you see his abs and you just find the strength to go on. The water breaks during these workouts are perfect. Right when you feel like you may pass out you get enough of a break to hydrate and get right back into it. I also love that you use the bands. You don’t need a bunch of fancy equipment. Also, unlike Insanity it’s not a ton of push-ups. I can’t do many push-ups. They do have a lot of fun push-up hybrids, they are hard, but they will work muscles you never knew you had. I also like doing something different. If I had the choice of doing 10 reps of 3 different types of push-ups or 30 normal push-ups, I would always pick the variety. Plus with variety you are working different muscles.
You get the band with the kit, which is great. All you have to do is open the box and jump right in. I really haven’t used bands before, so I was a little weary that I wouldn’t get a good workout. FALSE. SO false. After doing Strength & Force Upper my shoulders and arms were on fire. In a good way. I love feeling the burn, because I know I got a good workout. You won’t get bored with TapouT XT, trust me!
Holy. CRAP. I have done Plyo workouts before, but TapouT XT isn’t like any other workout. No. You will be pushed, hard. In 3 days I am doing things I didn’t think I would be able to do. This workout is a decent amount of lunges, and squats, and jumps. With a fun twist of jabs and uppercuts. I don’t want you to get confused and think you will be doing boring lunges and squats. No, you will be doing some crazy moves. Mike knew what he was doing when he made this workout. I have found that the majority of moves are based around your core. You MUST engage your core, which will give you those sexy abs that you have been dreaming of. I tend to forget to engage my core, but Mike is there to remind me. You will be drenched in sweat after this workout. Sadie, my 3 year old even jumped in with me.
I have to admit, she is really great at watching what they do and then doing it to her best ability. She can throw a right hook and knee like she has been training for years. Having her planking next to me definitely pushes me to do my best.
My legs are SO sore and numb today. I did Plyo XT last night and I can’t wait to do Yoga XT today! Overall I am so excited about this workout. I wake up everyday and I can’t wait to see what’s next. I know that it’s working, and it’s actually fun. Stay tuned for my Yoga XT review!
